Formally trained as both dancer and choreographer at the Laban Centre, a performing arts and movement therapy training centre at Goldsmith College, East London. Carolan developed her career in the field of personal fitness coaching; achieving celebrity status herself whilst training HRH The Princess of Wales for four years.

Carolan pioneered a revolutionary concept in training courses for exercise teachers within the UK. She has presented to fitness instructors internationally, extending her skills to set up and coordinate studios for a large health club chain across the south of England.

Carolan has choreographed and produced six exercise videos, most recently 'Flowpilates' and published 'Body Watch' a personal fitness book.

Carolan has scooped a variety of prestigious Business awards and, as a media personality, is regularly asked for advice on health and fitness issues for television programmes. She has been featured in the Daily Mail, The Times, The Express, Shape, She, OK! and Woman magazine in the UK and the USA.

Carolan is currently the fitness writer for Handbag.com a women’s internet magazine.

Carolan trained in Pilates, the balanced body conditioning exercise method, at the Physical Mind Institute in New York. With a passionate belief that exercise should benefit long-term health she has developed the criteria for the synergistic Mind Body classes and therapies available at soma centre. Her motto is;     

'A peaceful mind gives life to the body.'

Extensive expertise in the fields of dance, fitness and mind / body training has enabled Carolan to recruit the very best staff for the soma centre.
